For ZonWizard to calculate the profit margin on sales, it is necessary to indicate the unit cost associated with each product.
The software thinks in terms of stock, meaning each time a new stock of a product is purchased, you can indicate the purchase cost of the batch inclusive of all expenses required to deliver the goods to the warehouse from which they will then be shipped to the end customer.
To assign the purchase cost, click on the "Add" button on the product card.
You can assign product costs in bulk in the Bulk Upload section.
If, on the arrival date of a new stock, there are inventories of the same product in the warehouse, it is possible to take them into account, so the unit cost will be calculated as the weighted average of the new and old stock against the incoming and remaining quantity.
Inventories can be managed in 3 ways with the "Consider remaining stock" selector
No: ignore the remainder of the previous stock
Auto: let the software automatically calculate the remainder
Manual: manually enter the remaining quantity of the previous batch
To assign the purchase cost, fill in the required fields and click Create to confirm the operation.
The stock quantity must correspond to the costs entered, as the unit cost will be calculated dividing the amounts by the quantity indicated.
For example, specifying:
Production Cost = €1000
Shipping Cost = €50
Quantity = 100
the software will calculate a unit cost of €10.50/unit.
If you want to enter the unit cost directly, you can do so, but Quantity must be specified as 1.
The unit cost of the product will then be calculated, and each unit sold will be associated with this cost.
Furthermore, if a customer returns a product and the returned product is in "sellable" condition, the unit cost will be credited back.
Product costs should be entered excluding VAT for all sellers under the ordinary tax regime. Only for sellers under the flat-rate tax regime should costs be entered including VAT.
The procurement costs of a product may vary over time, so if you want to modify the cost of a product, simply create a new stock indicating the costs and arrival date in the warehouse. From this date onwards, the new unit cost will be associated with each sale.
If you modify the cost of an existing stock, the profit of all sales associated with the modified stock period will be recalculated.
The costs of shipping to end customers through the seller's logistics can be assigned globally for each marketplace, see Settings (Profit Tool) section.
However, it is possible to assign a specific shipping cost for each individual product on every marketplace.
Before assigning the shipping cost, it is necessary to activate the "Indicate FBM Shipping Costs" option on the product detail card.
Once this option is activated, you can indicate the FBM shipping cost on the marketplace card.
FBM shipping costs should be entered excluding VAT for all sellers under the ordinary tax regime. Only for sellers under the flat-rate tax regime should costs be entered including VAT.
The marketplace tab provides information on price, fees, profit, and other useful information.
